About the Company Our client, a leading professional services firm, is seeking a Billing Specialist to support their Finance team during a maternity leave contract (10 months). Responsibilities Understand and adhere to client-specific billing guidelines. Process electronic bills through client-specified e-billing systems and monitor their status. Prepare, edit, and confirm client invoices for accuracy and compliance. Research and resolve questionable time or cost entries, pulling supporting documentation as needed. Review finalized invoices for quality and accuracy. Ensure timely monthly billing in line with the firms schedule. Address and resolve specific billing issues, including client bill corrections. Prepare documentation for write-offs, write-downs, and approvals as required. Manage attorneys portfolios of unbilled time/costs, providing status reports to management and attorneys. Conduct regular maintenance of unbilled and A/R balances to ensure accurate reporting. Provide billing and payment histories and conduct research as necessary. Assist with Finance-related inquiries and Trust transactions documentation. Maintain a 60% in-office presence, with up to 40% remote work flexibility. Requirements Associate or bachelors degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of billing experience in a law firm environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Working knowledge of legal billing systems (e.g., Elite 3E, Aderant). Experience with e-billing and third-party billing portals. Strong customer service orientation, written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to complete tasks independently. Creative problem-solving, logical reasoning, and ability to work under pressure. Ability to collaborate professionally with colleagues at all levels. Discretion in handling confidential matters. Quick adaptability to new applications and software; flexibility to work overtime if necessary. Compensation Salary: $60,000 $70,000 Remote Hybrid schedule with 3 days in office Contract: Maternity leave, 10 months (May 4, 2026 March 1, 2027) We do not use AI to screen candidates.
