Health & Safety Manager Confidential Toronto, ON, Canada On-site Full-time About the role A leading infrastructure operations and maintenance organisation is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to provide senior leadership, independent oversight, and strategic direction for health and safety across a large-scale, safety-critical O&M programme in Toronto. This is a designated Key Individual role with direct accountability for regulatory and contractual compliance, client engagement, and the ongoing development of a strong safety culture. What youll be responsible for Leading the development, governance, and continuous improvement of the Safety Management Plan, Emergency Response Plan, and associated HSSEQ policies and procedures Ensuring full compliance with Ontario OHS legislation, WSIA, and all contractual safety obligations Overseeing risk registers, incident investigations (including root cause analysis), and corrective action programmes Managing contractor and subcontractor safety compliance through audits, inspections, and performance monitoring Representing the organisation with the client, operator, regulators, and external auditors Providing coaching and leadership to managers, supervisors, and JHSC members Delivering monthly and ad hoc safety performance reporting to senior leadership and the client What were looking for 510 years of progressive H&S experience, ideally in transit, rail, infrastructure, or large-scale O&M environments Bachelors degree or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field CRSP, CHSC, CSP, or equivalent designation is an asset Demonstrated experience in a senior, client-facing compliance role Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations (Ontario) Valid, non-probationary Ontario Class G drivers licence Note on this posting This position is posted confidentially.
