SUMMARY The Ready Mix Driver is responsible for safely delivering readymix concrete throughout Greater Sudbury, completing required vehicle inspections and basic maintenance, adjusting concrete loads to meet specifications, and maintaining accurate regulatory logs. The role also supports plant and truck operations by using tools and equipment for tasks within the readymix production process. This is a unionized position under the LIUNA Local 493 and GIP Interpaving Inc. - Ready Mix Production & Shop collective agreement (collective agreement). PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE DELIVERY & OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Delivery of ready-mix concrete on behalf of GIP Interpaving Ltd. within Greater Sudbury and surrounding areas. Use tools and equipment required to perform various tasks within the Ready-mix concrete production operation. This includes but is not limited to work such as plant/truck maintenance, pre-cast production. VEHICLE OPERATION, INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with current laws and regulations. Perform the specified basic maintenance intervals on assigned vehicle. This includes, but is not limited to greasing, checking and maintaining appropriate fluid levels, visual tire assessments etc. COMPLIANCE, ADJUSTMENTS & RECORDKEEPING Responsible for addition of various concrete admixtures and making minor adjustments to load of concrete in accordance with current specifications and regulations. Maintain accurate log of hours worked in compliance with current laws and regulations. POSITION REQUIREMENTS Valid DZ Drivers License with a minimum of 1 full year of commercial driving experience. A clean drivers abstract and CVOR abstract. Ability to operate the ready-mix unit and deliver concrete within specified tolerances provided. WHAT WE OFFER Expected Pay: $27.00 per hour in accordance with the collective agreement. Benefits, pension, and other additional compensation premiums are in accordance with the collective agreement.
