As our brand continues to grow across both direct-to-consumer and retail channels, we are looking for a Playdough Chef to join our production team and continue to help bring our signature dough to life. Position Overview Our Playdough Chefs play an essential role in the heart of our production process. This role involves preparing and mixing our signature modeling dough in small batches, ensuring that each batch meets our high standards for colour, texture, and consistency. While the process is similar to baking or food preparation, the final product is a sensory toy designed for imaginative play. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, appreciates precision, and takes pride in maintaining an extremely clean and organized workspace. This role requires patience, focus, and the ability to follow established recipes and production processes carefully. You will work closely with our team to ensure our dough production runs smoothly, consistently, and at the high level of quality that Dough Parlour is known for. This is an on-site position located in Oakville , with scheduling that can range between 2 - 5 days per week depending on production needs . Key Responsibilities Dough Production: Prepare and mix small-batch dough according to Dough Parlours proprietary recipes and production processes. Measure ingredients accurately and maintain our consistent quality standards across batches. Work with food colouring, oils, and other ingredients to achieve precise colour matching and sensory quality. Quality Control: Ensure every batch meets Dough Parlours standards for consistency, colour vibrancy, and texture. Identify and correct inconsistencies during the production process when possible. Maintain careful attention to detail to ensure product quality remains consistent across batches. Workplace Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a spotless, well-organized production environment. Follow all cleaning, sanitation, and food-safe workspace standards. Properly store ingredients, tools, and materials between production runs. Production Support: Assist with general production preparation and clean-up. Help support the production schedule to ensure dough batches are ready for packaging and fulfillment. Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth daily operations. Required Skills & Qualifications Experience in baking, pastry work, or food production environments. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent results across repetitive tasks. Comfort working with food colouring, industrial mixing processes, and ingredient preparation. Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and production processes carefully. Excellent cleanliness and workspace organization habits. No allergies or sensitivities to common baking ingredients (e.g., flour, food colouring, oils, scenting agents). Ability to stand for extended periods during production shifts. Ability to lift and move ingredient containers (up to ~25 lbs). Comfortable working with hands for extended periods during mixing and preparation. Position Details Role: Playdough Chef Location: On-site in Oakville, Ontario Schedule: 2 - 5 days per week (flexible based on production needs). Environment: Hands-on production role in a clean, organized workspace. Team: Supportive, collaborative, and creative environment. Compensation: $20 - $24 CAD per hour.
