About this role: MSL 6 month CONTRACT May - NovemberIn this position the Medical Science Liaison - Oncology, will facilitate and develop relationships with the medical and scientific community by communicating product related information to investigators and institutions. The role provides information on research developments and new concepts in medical treatment while offering scientific perspective to field activities associated with growing existing products and supporting the introduction of new therapies.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain relationships with clinical investigators and key institutions relevant to the appropriate use of productsCommunicate scientific and clinical information to healthcare professionals and investigatorsSupport medical education initiatives including presentations to healthcare professionals and formulary committees when appropriateIdentify medical community training and educational needs related to product introduction and collaborate with internal teams to ensure appropriate education is providedFacilitate participation in clinical trials programsIncrease organizational visibility with current and emerging industry leadersIdentify clinical research opportunities consistent with organizational objectivesServe as a key contact for investigators initiating investigator initiated trialsProvide investigators with technical support for study developmentIdentify and communicate key clinical and research insights from external experts to internal teams to support research, development and strategic planningMaintain scientific and clinical expertise through continuous education including conferences, scientific workshops and review of relevant journalsRequirementsA registered nurse license, a bachelor's degree in science or biology, a PharmD or PhD degree or equivalent experience in a pharmaceutical or healthcare education environment is required, master's degree is preferredThis is a field based roleAbility to travel domestically and internationally frequently including some weekend travel. Travel may include time at cancer trial sites, institutions, conferences, offices and hotelsFive years of overall experience with a minimum of three years in oncologyStrong clinical development experience preferably across multiple phases of clinical developmentKnowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes and national regulatory requirementsFamiliarity with healthcare reimbursement systemsUnderstanding of hospital formulary and healthcare provider decision making processesExcellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skillsAbility to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical directors and pharmacy directorsStrong analytical capabilities with attention to detail and qualityExcellent writing and presentation abilitiesAbility to learn complex information and communicate key insights clearly to team membersAbility to prioritize deliverables and recognize conflicts in prioritiesPositive attitude, flexibility and proactive mindsetAbility to read, analyze and interpret scientific and technical information and dataStrong English communication skills both verbal and writtenThe individual in this role may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.Position: 6 Month ContractAnnualized Salary Range: $134,000 to $158,000 (prorated over 6 months)Travel: Approximately 35 to 50 percent travel requiredBenefits will be communicated separately
