Please log in to verify your internal candidate status. This position has an initial appointment of two years. Location This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person. Work primarily takes place at Enterprise Square, Edmonton. Centre Manager Overview The Alberta Business Family Institute (ABFI) leads operational execution, relationship building, awareness and program growth for the Institute. This role balances external engagement (building relationships with business families and advisors, responding to program inquiries, driving enrollment through marketing and social media) with internal execution (managing program logistics, budgets, communications, and operations). Key responsibilities include growing ABFI''''s flagship programs (Signature Event, Roadmap, Forum), promotional and outreach activities, and providing operational support that enables ABFI leadership to focus on research, program delivery and thought leadership. Responsibilities Develop and implement enrollment strategies, respond to inquiries, conduct discovery conversations, and track leads through CRM system to achieve participation targets. Build and maintain relationships with business families, advisors, sponsors, alumni, and strategic partners, representing ABFI at external events and networking opportunities. Lead planning and execution of annual Signature Event (600+ attendees, Edmonton & Calgary) and additional events and workshops. Manage budgets across multiple funding sources (endowment, programs, sponsorships), working with ASB Finance Partner to track revenue, expenses, and financial reporting. Develop and execute marketing campaigns for programs and create compelling promotional materials showcasing research and impact. Manage ABFI website content, email marketing campaigns, newsletter distribution, social media presence, and Table Talk Podcast logistics. Identify and cultivate sponsorship & partnership opportunities, developing proposals and managing sponsor relationships yearround with national partners and sponsors. Provide training, performance guidance, and daytoday direction to support team. Provide operational support and backup coverage for Executive Director. Support management of family business research portfolio including translational research, white papers, teaching cases, and journal articles. Coordinate research fellowship program, working with global experts in family business and facilitating crossfaculty research initiatives. Support ABFI Board strategic planning and may serve on advisory board committees. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field; Masters degree is preferred. 35 years of relevant work experience in program management, business development, marketing, event planning, or relationship management. Proven track record of enrollment/sales success, including responding to inquiries, conducting discovery conversations, and achieving targets. Experience planning and executing largescale events (200+ attendees). Strong organizational, project management, and problemsolving skills with excellent relationshipbuilding and stakeholder engagement abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. Familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing strategies, and content creation. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced, entrepreneurial environment. Background working with executives, business owners, or highnetworth individuals is preferred. The terms and conditions of this appointment are governed by Schedule E of the Collective Agreement between the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta and the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta.
