Job Description Union: Non-Union Number of vacancies: 1 New or Replacement Position: New Department: Bickle Allied Health Site: TRI Bickle Centre Reports to: Site Manager Work Model: On-site Salary: $ - $ per hour Hours: hour per day Shifts: Monday - Friday; Varies per week Status: Casual Closing Date: March 30, 2026 As an integral member of Toronto Rehab, the SpeechLanguage Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders for adult patients with Acquired Brain Injury (including Mild Traumatic Brain Injury), predominantly as part of the Complex Continuing Care Program. The successful candidate will work in a progressive multiprofessional team, participate in rounds, meetings and quality initiatives and assist with coverage across other clinical service areas as necessary. The candidate will perform all other duties as required. Qualifications Master''''s degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology or equivalent, required Registration with the College of Audiologists and SpeechLanguage Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO), required Ontario Association of SpeechLanguage Pathologist and Audiologists (OSLA) membership preferred 2 years of experience preferred Previous experience with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is required; experience with mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and concussion is preferred Experiencing providing comprehensive speech, language and cognitivecommunication assessments, intervention, consultation and education services for patients with ABI (including mTBI) Previous experience with assessment and management of swallowing disorders, including clinical swallowing assessments and videofluroscopy Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with patients, families, colleagues and thirdparty insurance providers Experience in professional education, presentation and inservices preferred Recognizes and acts within the scope of practice of a speechlanguage pathologist Understanding of health care teams and how the skills and competencies of all members contribute toward patient management Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communications skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Excellent problemsolving skills Commitment to selfdirected/lifelong learning and evidencebased practice Flexibility and ability to prioritize and to deal with changes in tasks with short notice Ability to function in an independent, selfdirected manner and to exercise sound judgement Ability to function in a stressful environment while maintaining professional demeanor Compliance with legislation outlined in Regulation of Health Professions Act (1991) Compliance with departmental and hospital safety, emergency and infection control procedures Experience in development, implementation and monitoring of quality indicators, preferred Additional Information In addition to working alongside some of the most talented and inspiring healthcare professionals in the world, UHN offers a wide range of benefits, programs and perks.
