Catholic Social Services is seeking a contract full-time Accounting Clerk (6-month term) to join our head office team in Edmonton, AB. Job Summary Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounting Clerk supports the Agencys financial operations with a primary focus on Accounts Payable, and possibly Accounts Receivable as needed. This role requires strong attention to detail, working knowledge of financial systems and coding, and a solid grasp of GST processing and internal controls. Your work will directly support the responsible financial management of a $100+ million annual budget and a growing capital portfolio. Accounts Payable (Primary Focus) Input data into the Agency ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central) Process cheque requisitions, expenditure claims, and staff reimbursements Review and correct account coding, GST treatment, and vendor documentation Process EFT and cheque payments Maintain and update vendor master files Resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies Document and streamline AP processes in line with system upgrades Provide training to Agency staff on payables procedures and ERP changes Accounts Receivable (As Needed) Verify billing data received from program managers Ensure accuracy of occupancy reports, billing periods, and account coding Prepare and submit customized invoices to funders/customers Track invoice payments and monitor AR aging reports Maintain customer master files and support audit documentation Prepare journal entries and identify opportunities for process improvements Additional Duties Support year-end audit preparation and help respond to auditor requests Contribute to financial documentation digitization and process improvements Other finance-related duties as assigned What This Job Requires Diploma in Accounting or similar field or currently enrolled in an Accounting program; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered Ideally 12 years of experience in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable roles Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a strong asset Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively What We Offer Annual salary of $41,600 (based on qualifications and experience) Flexible benefits (if eligible during the term) A supportive, team-oriented environment where your work directly supports a meaningful cause Opportunities for skill-building in ERP systems and process improvements A dynamic workplace with 130+ programs and over 1,800 staff across Alberta About Catholic Social Services You will be joining an established Agency that is guided by faith to care for and bring hope to people in need with humility, compassion and respect.
