In this leadership role, you will provide strategic financial leadership and oversight across the organization while supporting the financial stewardship of a complex portfolio of industry-led innovation projects. The Vice-President, Finance will play a critical role in ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and sound financial management across both corporate operations and project funding activities. Reporting to the EVP Investment & Operations and working closely with executive leadership, the Vice-President, Finance will support strategic decisionmaking and ensure the organization maintains the highest standards of financial accountability. While headquartered in Regina, Protein Industries Canada is open to candidates based across Western Canada, with an expectation of regular travel to Regina. Position Overview Provide strategic financial leadership and advice to the Executive Vice President, Investment and Operations and leadership team, supporting enterprise decisionmaking and longterm financial sustainability. Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, financial systems, and financial statement preparation to ensure strong financial stewardship across the organization. Lead the organizations financial planning and reporting processes, including annual budgeting and multiyear forecasting aligned with strategic priorities. Oversee financial reporting and compliance with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), including funding requests, financial reports, costreconciliations, and Contribution Agreement requirements. Provide financial oversight and due diligence for funded projects, including project financial reporting, costclaim reviews, eligibility interpretations, and financial risk management. Lead the preparation of annual audited financial statements and support interactions with the Boards Audit and Finance Committee while ensuring strong internal controls, financial policies, and risk management practices. Lead and mentor the finance team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, transparency, and sound financial stewardship across the organization. Ideal Qualifications and Experience You possess a CPA designation and bring strong technical accounting expertise. You bring approximately 10 years of progressive finance experience, including at least five years in a senior financial leadership role. You have experience managing complex financial environments and overseeing budgets exceeding several million dollars. You bring broad finance leadership experience across multiple functional areas. You have demonstrated success leading and mentoring finance teams while supporting organizational strategy and operational delivery. You are highly analytical and comfortable working with large volumes of financial data, including projectlevel financial reporting and forecasting. You possess strong proficiency in Excel and financial systems. Experience working in environments with government reporting requirements, complex funding structures, or collaborative project financing models is considered an asset, as is experience within the agriculture, agrifood, or innovation ecosystem. Protein Industries Canada works with industry to develop collaborative innovation projects that strengthen Canadas agriculture and food processing sector. Through coinvestment initiatives, the organization supports proofofconcept, scaling and commercial projects.
