Contracts Manager Location: Calgary OR Vancouver with Travel to Alaska Schedule: Monday to Friday in office with travel requirements Contract Structure: Calgary OR Vancouver for 2 years with relocation to Alaska after the 2 years are over POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Contracts Manager will oversee all aspects of contract development, negotiation, execution, and administration for a major long-term mining project in Alaska. The role will involve management of 6 significant EPC contracts to manage and direct as well as multiple smaller contracts and vendors to manage. This role is critical in ensuring that contractual agreements support the strategic, operational, and financial goals of the project while maintaining compliance with legal standards. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in contract management within the mining or construction industries and possess strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Draft, review, negotiate, and execute contracts with EPCm contractors. Development and implementation of Contract Administration (including change orders) for the overall project as well as providing overall direction to EPCm Contract Engineering teams. Perform all contract administration duties for the life of the contract to ensure contract performance is aligned with terms, timelines, and budgets. Manage contract close-out in alignment with project goals. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with contractors, vendors and internal teams and serve as the primary point of contact for all contract-related matters. Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts. Communicate and present information to stakeholders about all contract-related matters. Facilitate regular meetings to review contract performance and resolve issues. Ensure all contracts comply with legal standards and company policies. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 20 years of experience in contract management, with at least 10-15 years experience managing large scale ECP contracts in in mining, oil and gas or construction projects. Professional certifications such as CCCM, CFCM, CIPS, or PMP are highly desirable. Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of contract law and legal terminology. Excellent negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple large capital contracts and deadlines effectively. Leadership & Communication Proven leadership and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and lead across functional and project departments.
