Associate Director, Business Insights - Downtown Toronto OR Waterloo (2 days in office) Compensation Package: $120,000-$125,000 + 15% annual bonus JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for driving data-informed decision-making across SF Ops. This role will lead a team that is involved in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing business data to provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations. The Associate Director, Business Insights and team will collaborate closely with various departments to influence business strategies, improve operational efficiency, and identify growth opportunities. This role will require the incumbent to interact with and foster positive working relationships with all SF Ops business units. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Analysis & Insights Develop and implement frameworks for analyzing business performance Provide strategic recommendations based on data trends to inform executive decision-making Identify opportunities for growth, cost reduction, and process improvement Data Collection & Management Oversee the design and management of data collection processes and ensure data quality Collaborate with IT and data management teams to enhance data infrastructure and accessibility Ensure quality and accuracy of data Project Management Build detailed action plans to execute initiatives Manage and measure project activities to ensure the on-time, in scope and in budget completion of all project deliverables Develop and implement success metrics to track progress Escalate unresolved issues/risks to the SF Ops Leadership Team as required for resolution Set and meet deadlines with quality deliverables adapting & modifying project plans as needed Responsible for day-to-day ownership of the assigned projects & project team members Determine critical tasks & milestones for project completion Anticipate, identify, and manage processes & key risks, including any potential roadblocks Reporting & Visualization Create comprehensive and visually compelling reports and dashboards for stakeholders Present findings and insights clearly, tailoring communication to varied audiences Develop KPIs and metrics to monitor business health and performance Identify opportunities to reduce, consolidate, automate, and standardize reports Design business analysis and data recording systems for use throughout the department Monitor data to identify changes in financial and business trends Develop requirements for new standardized reports and dashboards Analyze and synthesize data sets to uncover opportunities to improve processes and practices Notify appropriate individuals of concerns/opportunities and make recommendations for solutions Contribute to the creation and maintenance of team standard operating procedures and policies Understand data (including data mining), analysis, systems, and operational processes as well as recommendations for automation Ensure compliance with reporting governance standards Liaise as an Internal Consultant Collaborate closely with stakeholders and internal partners to understand their needs and provide data-driven solutions Lead initiatives to drive a data-driven culture across SF Ops Build relationships internally with other business units to ensure effectiveness of processes Represent the business units in subject matter expertise for new initiatives Determine resolutions or provide objective suggestions or resolutions to a system or process issue Lead and Manage Staff Champion the companys Vision, Mission and Values as set out in the Strategic Plan both internally and externally within the industry Establish and maintain an effective system of communication throughout the business units Provide leadership, direction and coaching to direct reports that will most effectively achieve the business units goals, objectives as well as individual development and career growth Establish, monitor, and communicate performance standards by reinforcing individual/team/company results and growth, work quality, innovation, continuous improvement and teamwork Educate, coach and counsel staff to ensure they are empowered to effectively manage their roles in a confident and professional manner Identify staffs strengths to provide suitable career path Recommend promotions and workforce changes to ensure business objectives are achieved Establish goals and provide guidance to encourage development of employees Identify gaps in performance and develop a plan for improvement Develop staff in keeping with succession planning and ongoing business requirements Establish and maintain an effective system of communication throughout the business unit Ensure a continuous improvement culture is established and encouraged Skills/Knowledge Understanding of statistical analysis, control charts, and service performance analysis Knowledge of SQL server design and standards Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Azure DevOps design, process and standards Superior attention to detail and strong analytical skills Expert knowledge of SF Ops policies and procedures Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint Ability to lead change initiatives and to foster a positive employee relations environment.
