Operations Lead Part-Time | Independent Contractor Location: Hybrid (primarily remote, with approximately two in-person meetings per month in Toronto) Time commitment: 20-25 hours per week ABOUT THE ROLE Zabeen Hirji is the Founder of the Purposeful Third Act (P3A) movement, a social enterprise advancing a Third Act defined by social impact, learning, and joy. In addition to her advisory work, Zabeen supports governments, universities, and nonprofits (all pro bono) through P3A and related social impact initiatives. This portfolio spans multiple projects and programs and requires strong coordination, follow-through, and operational discipline. We are seeking a highly capable Operations Lead to drive execution across projects, programs, and core workflows. Reporting to the Chief of Staff and Project Director, P3A, this role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, digitally fluent, and enjoys owning work end-to-end in a small, evolving, values-driven environment. You will: Work Directly with Leaders: You will report to the Chief of Staff & Project Director, P3A and work closely with Zabeen Hirji, gaining direct exposure to high-level strategic thought and execution. WHAT YOU WILL DO You will own end-to-end intake, coordination and follow-through across the portfolioacting as the day-to-day hub so work moves reliably from initiation to completion. This includes: Running day-to-day operations: keeping priorities organized, tracking progress against timelines, maintaining master trackers/documents, and managing follow-through so nothing drops. Delivering projects : owning discrete initiatives end-to-end (planning, workbacks, drafts, coordination, delivery). Supporting high-quality outputs: preparing and updating working materials (briefing notes, decks/docs), conducting desk research, and drafting first versions of deliverables for review. Improving how we work: building and refining simple workflows, templates, and systems (trackers, checklists, cadences), tracking basic progress/metrics, and capturing lessons learned to strengthen execution over time. Workflow administration: scheduling, inbox/message triage, event logistics, and file/records management. YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS This role is well suited to someone who enjoys bringing order and structure to a fast-moving environment. Youre proactive and dependable, with strong judgement and follow-through - you notice whats missing, close loops, and keep priorities on track without being chased. The role includes both coordination and real execution: you will own projects end-to-end and drive them to completion.
