Job Title: Fitness Program Support Lead Reports to: Manager, HSF Location: Cor Van Raay YMCA at Cavendish Farms Centre Job Summary The Fitness Program Support Lead serves the mission of the YMCA of Lethbridge by supporting internal and external fitness programs. Ensure patrons are following proper safety guidelines. Monitor all aspects of the fitness area and facilitate programming. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Key Relationships HSF Leadership Team All Association employees and volunteers YMCA of Lethbridge members and patrons Nature & Scope The Fitness Program Support Lead will support the Association as part of the HSF team. The major responsibilities of this position are, but not limited to: Leadership and Strategic Planning Exemplify the YMCA of Lethbridges Core Values of caring, honesty, inclusiveness, respect, and responsibility. Promote a positive, inclusive work environment, responding to general inquiries in a timely manner and in accordance with Association policies and guidelines. Be a YMCA ambassador by engaging in and promoting practices and frameworks which ensure diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Participate in the YMCA of Lethbridges health and safety program including incident management and emergency response when required. Assist in emergencies in accordance with YMCA standards and the YMCA Emergency Response Procedures. Effectively engage in communication and information exchange with internal and external stakeholders. Organizational and Department Management Contribute to the completion of administrative duties within HSF, such as headcounts, checkins, and collecting data. Instruct and monitor patrons using the fitness centre, dropin programs, and paid programs. Act as a program support lead for the HSF Team, providing excellent participant experience while leading the response to issues and communicating with the HSF Leadership Team. Occasionally carry out tasks requiring a reasonable degree of mental effort and concentration. Monitor the general safety in the fitness area. Report concerns to a member of the HSF leadership team. Model best practices, upholding high standards for excellence in team implementations. Ensure all assigned checklists, reports, and forms are completed in a timely manner. Complete cleaning tasks, headcounts, and equipment checks in a timely and professional manner. Complete daily preventative maintenance checklists. Work in usually standardized conditions, under occasional supervision, with choice of action within defined limits to make progress towards assigned objectives. Attend all required YMCA trainings and recertifications. Financial Management and Philanthropic Involvement Model the Associations dedication to philanthropy. Participate in Fund Development Initiatives to further the impact of team efforts. Adhere to the teams annual budget. External Relations and Advocacy Build positive relationships with members, patrons, employees, volunteers, and other stakeholders. Role model team initiatives and projects within the Association. Follow policies regarding confidentiality to safeguard data and information and handle sensitive information with a strong sense of ethics and confidentiality, in addition to all Association policies and guidelines. Participate in external growth opportunities in alignment with team goals. Physical Demands This position includes prolonged standing. This position involves the ability to lift 20kg. Qualifications Certificate program in Fitness, such as Personal Training certificate or Group Fitness certificate, is required. Up to 1 year of practical or lived experience is required. Intermediate First Aid and CPRC is required. Previous nonprofit experience is considered an asset. Evidence of an acceptable Police Information Check and Child Intervention Check.
