The Company Globe 24-7 is partnering with a mining client in Ontario, Canada to hire an experienced Mechanical Trainer. Position Overview The Maintenance Training Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering practical and classroom-based training programs that support the safe and effective maintenance of mobile and stationary equipment. This role strengthens workforce capability by building technical knowledge, reinforcing safe work practices, and promoting maintenance excellence. Acting as a mentor and competency resource, the position supports the development of mechanics, apprentices, and technicians to ensure consistent performance, operational reliability, and adherence to safety standards. The role contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by aligning training initiatives with operational needs and long-term workforce sustainability. The Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Training Delivery and Workforce Development Provide structured technical instruction on maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and component rebuild practices for mobile and stationary equipment. Deliver practical, hands-on coaching in operational environments to reinforce safe and effective maintenance techniques. Support onboarding and orientation activities to build foundational competency for new personnel. Develop, update, and maintain instructional materials, procedures, and visual learning resources. Evaluate and validate technician competencies against internal performance standards and manufacturer guidelines. Maintenance Excellence and Operational Standards Partner with maintenance leadership to align preventive maintenance procedures and inspection practices with operational requirements. Train personnel in the proper use of diagnostic methods, precision specifications, and hydraulic and electrical testing principles. Promote best practices related to contamination control, correct tooling, and safe material handling. Reinforce accurate maintenance documentation and effective use of maintenance management systems. Continuous Improvement and Reliability Support Identify workforce capability gaps and implement targeted development initiatives. Contribute technical insight to equipment performance reviews and problem-solving efforts. Provide recommendations to strengthen maintenance reliability based on field observations. Support refinement of maintenance strategies to improve operational consistency. Compliance and Documentation Maintain accurate training and competency records within designated tracking systems. Ensure training activities align with regulatory requirements and equipment manufacturer standards. Assist with audits and inspections related to workforce competency and training compliance. Participate in refresher instruction and ongoing certification activities to sustain workforce readiness. Qualifications Journeyperson certification in a relevant discipline is required. Extensive hands-on experience supporting maintenance activities within a mining environment. Prior leadership experience supervising maintenance personnel. Demonstrated reliability and commitment to maintaining consistent work attendance. Comfortable using workplace software tools, including office applications and computerized maintenance systems. Effective communicator capable of conveying information clearly in both written and verbal formats. Exhibits strong leadership presence supported by professionalism and ethical conduct. Maintains performance and sound decision-making in high-pressure situations. Skilled at organizing workload and aligning priorities to meet operational objectives. Promotes cooperation and teamwork to support collective success. Values service quality and operational excellence.
