Job Description

Our client a successful Canadian Manufacturer is seeking a Shipping Supervisor for their plants logistics and warehouse functions. This role is critical to our manufacturing flow, ensuring that raw materials are received and staged for production and that finished goods are dispatched to customers with accuracy. Work Setting: On Site Shift Schedule: Days. Could be called after hours if an emergency arises Location Details: Guelph, On Responsibilities Production Support: Coordinate the movement of raw materials and sub-assemblies to ensure zero downtime on production lines. Shipping & Receiving: Oversee the loading/unloading of freight, ensuring all documentation (BOLs, Customs, and Packing Slips) meets strict compliance standards. Inventory Control: Lead regular cycle counts and reconcile physical stock with the ERP system to maintain high levels of inventory accuracy. Team Supervision: Direct a team of material handlers and shippers, prioritizing safety protocols and efficient workflow management. Carrier Management: Interface with freight partners and courier services to optimize outbound logistics and meet customer delivery windows. Safety & Compliance: Enforce all workplace health and safety (OHS) regulations and maintain a high standard of housekeeping on the shop floor. Qualifications At least 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing-based warehouse At least 2 years of work experience as a logistics/shipping/warehouse supervisor Solid understanding of freight documentation, carrier selection, and industrial material handling. This could include HS Codes Valid drivers license and the ability to operate industrial equipment (e.g., counterbalance forklift). Why Join?
