Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Construction Manager to join their team on a 1-year contract in Edmonton, AB.MAIN FUNCTIONSLead Site Safety and Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE)Lead and Manage company site team(s) for completion of construction activities in accordance with project objectives, schedule, priorities, and contract specificationsServe as member of the Project Team (PT) when project assignedSupervise on-site contractual administration and specification complianceOversee the planning and execution of fabrication, construction, hookup, and mechanical completionServe as Company single-point contact on-site for contractor site managementManage interfaces/interactions with contractors and other groups (e.g., engineering, systems completion, and production operations) regarding relationships and construction issuesReport progress, performance, initiatives, and issues to Project ManagerReport to Construction Support Manager with general updates, as neededWhen not project assigned, support project construction site management with expertise as neededTASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESReport progress, performance, initiatives, and issues to Site or Project ManagerEnsure contractor is implementing and maintaining effective interfacesEnsure Quality Plan and requirements are in place and followedEnsure Mechanical Completion and Systems Completion activities are planned and safely executed to facilitate scheduleActively participate in Key Risk Assessments, Construction Readiness Reviews and/or Independent Project ReviewsActively participate in lessons learned review and appropriate close-out report sections upon completion of site workAccountable for competency and career development of direct reports including providing input to appraisal process for assigned site personnelSKILLS and QUALIFICATIONSExperience in construction for Oil and Gas industryStrong understanding of typical construction site and fabrication yard performance variablesCompetent skill levels in Excel, Word, and PowerPointAble to articulate technical issues to a non-technical audienceGood command of English both written and spokenAbility to travel internationallyAble to collaborate with others in a fast-changing environment
