Matchtech are supporting a key client with the requisition of a Senior Project Manager for Transmission Lines on a contract basis. This is a hands-on senior role with full accountability for project delivery, cost, schedule, risk, and client satisfaction, suitable for an experienced professional skilled in cabling project management.Key Responsibilities:Lead transmission line projects across the full lifecycle, from route development and environmental assessment coordination to engineering, procurement, construction, and close-out.Support and participate in Northern Ontario First Nations engagement, including relationship management, negotiation support, and Indigenous procurement coordination.Manage commercial aspects such as contract review, development of commercial frameworks, RFP strategy, and change management.Develop, review, and challenge project estimates, building clear, defensible business cases for funding and investment approvals.Maintain full accountability for cost management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and executive-level reporting.Direct and integrate project controls functions (schedule, cost, risk), ensuring data-driven decision making and actionable reporting.Lead multidisciplinary teams and align them with project outcomes.Serve as the primary client interface, managing expectations, risks, and escalations proactively.Identify and implement practical, non-standard solutions when traditional processes fall short.Promote a strong safety, quality, and risk-aware culture across all project activities.Job Requirements:8+ years of project management experience, with direct experience on transmission line projectsBachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience in project management, specifically with transmission line projects.Demonstrated experience supporting environmental assessments and regulatory processes from a project management perspective.Experience with route development and land acquisition interfaces.Experience with Indigenous engagement and procurement on major infrastructure projects.Strong commercial and financial project management capability.Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and drive results in complex delivery environments.Professional Engineer (P.Eng) and/or PMP are considered strong assets.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.If you are a seasoned Project Manager with expertise in managing transmission line projects looking to make a significant impact, we would love to hear from you.
