Position Summary Covenant Care welcomes all who share a calling to serve those most in need. The position of Resident Care Manager will commit to incorporate our Mission, Vision, and our Values, which are Compassion, Collaboration, Respect, Social Justice, Integrity and Stewardship, and uphold our ethical traditions as foundational aspects in all actions and decisionmaking. The Resident Care Manager, reporting to the Site Director, is accountable for the overall management and direction of continuing care services. The Resident Care Manager collaborates with other members of the management and interdisciplinary team in order to plan, implement and evaluate resident care. In accordance with Covenant Cares Mission, Vision, and Values, this position is responsible for ensuring that residents receive quality care and service according to Covenant Care policies and procedures. Provides support to residents, their family and visitors during the residents end of life journey that will enable choice, dignity, privacy, respect and individuality. Qualities The responsibilities of the Resident Care Manager are grounded in leadership and on the four pillars of care and service: People and teams Access and flow Quality and safety Stewardship and efficiency This position requires the following Commitment to Covenant Care Mission, Vision, Values Ability to coordinate the development of innovative care programs in order to meet the unique and holistic needs of residents Strong problem solving, critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills Ability to provide leadership and build relationships within teams Management experience with recruitment, retention, coaching, mentoring, and performance development in a unionized environment Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills Ability to remain objective in decisionmaking with a focus on caring for the whole person body, mind and soul Commitment to safe, effective and ethical resident care and work practices Ability to respond appropriately within a stressful environment Proven reliability and accountability Participates in the OnCall Rotation as applicable Have an understanding and working knowledge of Service Contracts, Continuing Care Health Service Standards, and Accreditation Standards Thorough working knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Office Supervision Direct supervision of care staff Accommodation Audits Qualifications Registered with CARNA (College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta) Masters Degree in Nursing or related field preferred Ability to speak French an asset Two to Five (25) years of middle or senior management experience in a unionized health care environment, preferably in continuing care services, is required Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong leadership skills Must be versed in CCHSS and Accommodation Audits This position requires you to be vaccinated against COVID19 and all other required communicable diseases under Covenant Cares OHS policy PLEASE NOTE Covenant Care offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package All employees new to Covenant Care must provide a criminal record check not older than 6 months ahead of your commencement date.
