However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.**About the role**Were looking for an Underwriter I, Commercial Lines, to join our growing team! **What you'll do here:*** Participate In broker visits, Insurance Industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development.* Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.* Make recommendations to improve the department processes and increase efficiency.* Analyze requests for quotes and recommend innovative solutions* Focus on building relationships while underwriting and rating policies* Provides technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team members* Assess, evaluate and negotiate on moderate to complex risks.* Maintain accurate documentation and ensure underwriting decisions align with company guidelines.* Uphold compliance with corporate policies, licensing requirements, and regulatory standards.**What you bring to the table:*** Minimum 2 years of Commercial Insurance experience (broker or underwriting).* RIBO license required.* Completion of or progress toward a CIP designation is an asset* Strong customer service orientation and relationshipbuilding skills.* Solid understanding of Commercial Underwriting Guides, rating tools, and industry regulations.* Demonstrate the ability to handle complex risks* Awareness of local market conditions, industry trends, and insurance issues.* Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new underwriting platforms.* Strong business acumen, analytical ability, and sound judgment.* Initiative, problemsolving capability, and ability to work efficiently under pressure.* Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.* Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.This position will fill an essential role in our team.*We are an equal opportunity employer**BrokerLink is committed to providing an accessible environment.
