WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY The Corporate Procurement Manager is responsible for leading strategic sourcing, procurement execution, and supplier relationship management for designated Corporate spend categories across all VCNA business units in the United States and Canada. This role plays a critical part in driving value creation, cost optimization, supply chain reliability, and sustainability initiatives while ensuring alignment with VCNAs culture, business objectives, and continuous improvement roadmap. The Manager will lead and develop a procurement team, execute category strategies, and drive transformational initiatives including process automation, digitalization, and efficiency improvements across procurement operations. WHAT WILL YOU DO Manage the procurement strategy and execution related to the Corporate Categories within Cement, Ready Mix and Aggregates Business Units in Canada and US, focused on sourcing from a wide range of vendors strategic/corporate MRO and Service categories Consolidation, standardization and leverage of the high value spend (Strategic) across two countries, five business units: Cement, CBM RMX & Aggregates, Prairie RMX & Aggregates. Tendering and negotiating annual/multi year supply contracts with external vendors ranging from $30k to $50 million, consistent with procurement policies, best practices and audit compliance; Identify and leverage opportunities for bulk purchasing, longterm contracts, and other strategic sourcing initiatives Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high service levels and reliability. Conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers, addressing any issues and driving continuous improvement Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost savings, supplier performance and category spend. Ensure DPO and supplychain finance targets are met in liaison with Finance Lead, mentor, and develop a procurement team to provide guidance and support to achieve departmental and organizational objectives Provide expertise and guidance on Corporate procurement categories to support project planning and execution. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and sustainability teams, to align procurement strategies with business objectives. Drive initiatives to reduce costs, capturing immediate, as well as longterm benefits [ie. savings and performance] for VCNA. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory changes impacting Indirect / Corporate categories. Identify and implement best practices in procurement and category management Lead initiatives to improve procurement processes, enhance data analytics capabilities and increase overall efficiency. QUALIFICATIONS Diploma or degree from accredited college or university with major in Business Administration or Engineering. Supply Chain Management, CPP, PMAC designation preferred. 5-7 years plus in Procurement & Supply Chain work experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferably in cement, construction or heavy industry. Prior experience managing a team preferred. SAP or ERP system experience required.
