Food World Supermarket is seeking a skilled and reliable Sous Chef Breakfast to lead and support the preparation of high-quality breakfast items for our ready-to-eat counters and grab-and-go offerings. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing classic and contemporary breakfast dishes, ensuring consistency, freshness, and timely delivery during peak morning hours. This role ensures efficient back-of-house operations, high food quality, and adherence to food safety standards. Key Responsibilities Menu Development & Promotions Assist in developing creative and profitable breakfast menus, including hot items, healthy options, and grab-and-go selections. Design and implement breakfast promotional packages, combo deals, and seasonal specials. Standardize recipes and portion control to ensure cost-effectiveness and consistency. Analyze customer preferences and recommend new items to drive sales. Food Preparation & Production Prepare a wide range of breakfast items including eggs (omelets, scrambled, poached), pancakes, waffles, French toast, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, cereals, and hot & cold beverages. Oversee preparation of hot and cold breakfast buffet or grab-and-go counters. Maintain consistency in taste, portion sizes, and presentation. Prepare sauces, spreads, toppings, and condiments from scratch. Manage mise en place and batch preparation for efficient morning service. Kitchen Operations Assist the Head Chef in supervising back-of-house operations during breakfast service. Monitor inventory, ensure freshness, and manage stock rotation (FIFO). Control food costs and minimize waste. Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and comply with food safety and sanitation regulations. Team Leadership & Training Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff on breakfast preparation techniques and standards. Coordinate workflow during peak morning hours to ensure timely service. Support staff scheduling, delegation, and performance management. Foster a positive and efficient kitchen environment. Quality & Customer Experience Ensure breakfast counters and displays are attractive, well-stocked, and inviting. Maintain high standards of taste, consistency, and presentation. Uphold the supermarkets brand image through exceptional breakfast offerings. Qualifications & Requirements Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Cook with a focus on breakfast or morning kitchen operations. Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary breakfast dishes. Experience in high-volume or retail food production preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. #J-18808-Ljbffr
