A well-established Canadian distributor of industrial and mechanical products (including piping, valves, fittings, and related equipment) is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to support and grow its Edmonton territory. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing sales within the region, developing new business opportunities, and managing existing key accounts. The Role : Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding a portfolio of clients across industrial and mechanical sectors. This is a field-based role focused on: Account management Territory growth Achieving and exceeding sales targets A structured onboarding process is provided, including cross-departmental exposure to ensure a full understanding of operations. Key Responsibilities : Conduct regular field visits and participate in industry events Build strong relationships with key decision-makers Identify, target, and acquire new customer accounts Develop and implement project follow-up strategies Coordinate with inside sales, credit, and warehouse teams Manage quotations, service coordination, and issue resolution Plan territory coverage and optimize travel routes Monitor customer credit status and report irregularities Participate in trade shows and sales events as required Maintain up-to-date product knowledge Prepare sales reports as requested Qualifications : Minimum 4 years of outside sales or business development experience in a related industry Knowledge of industrial, mechanical, fire protection, oil & gas, or water/wastewater products is a strong asset Diploma or degree in sales, marketing, business administration, mechanical technology, fire protection, or related field Technical aptitude and ability to read blueprints is an asset Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organizational and self-management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web-based applications Valid drivers license with a clean driving record Availability for daily travel within the territory and occasional overnight travel Ability to meet travel requirements within and outside Canada if needed What Is Offered : Competitive compensation Comprehensive health and benefits package Employer-matched retirement savings plan Ongoing training and professional development Mentorship and leadership programs Supportive and collaborative work environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
