Description The Faculty of Social Work, Central and Northern Alberta Region (Edmonton) invites applications for a Research Coordinator. This recurring parttime position (14 hours) is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, this Research Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and providing support to an array of different research projects. These projects are anchored within a communitybased approach that focus on supporting equitydeserving communities including those who have intersectional realities (e.g., racialized and sexual and gender diverse individuals, multilingual migrant children with a disability and their families). As a team member of 2 different communityuniversity partnerships, the primary purpose of the research coordinator is to support the coordination of project activities from 2 communityuniversity partnership groups. The first communityuniversity partnership seeks to address weight bias through a communitydriven educational workshop. The second communityuniversity partnership seeks to address service delivery inequities experienced by multilingual migrant families who have a child with a disability. This position involves working closely with Community Partner organizations to coordinate project activities including staff within University of Alberta (Faculty of Medicine) and University of Calgary (Faculty of Social Work) institutions, and staff at settlement, ethnocultural and/or disability organizations. This position is located in Edmonton and will require the person to live in Edmonton or close proximity. Summary of Key Responsibilities Connect with research team members, Community Partners and Advisory Committee Members via email, schedule core research team meetings, assist with creation of agenda and capture minutes to distribute to attendees Contribute to literature reviews including searching and reviewing articles relevant to the research topic and writing a summary of the learnings Coordinate data collection activities including: (i) liaising with Community Partners to recruit participants, (ii) liaising with participants and/or Community Partners to identify accommodations (e.g., find translators and/or respite workers for data collection events), (iii) scheduling with participants data collection events such as interviews and surveys and (iv) distributing and tracking honorariums to research participants and conducting interviews Manage administrative and research processes involving external technicians (e.g., ensure security of data during the transcription process; connecting with vendors such as interpreters, respite workers and/or transcriptionists for an invoice and processing it) Manage and/or supporting data analysis including analysis for qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., code data into themes, analyze surveys using descriptive analysis) Maintain detailed and organized project documentation (both electronic and physical files; includes storing and managing the files) Supporting knowledge dissemination/mobilization activities (e.g., coordinating presentations to Community Partners, preparing manuscripts for journal submissions) Qualifications / Requirements Work and/or lived experience with equitydeserving communities including those with intersectional realities Postsecondary Diploma/Degree in and/or related to social work (e.g., social work, psychology, child and youth care, health promotion) Working knowledge of critical approaches (e.g., social justice, intersectionality) Minimum 3 years working knowledge of communitybased approaches (e.g, collaborative approaches, participatory research) including data collection (e.g., conducting individual or focus group interviews, administering surveys) Minimum 2 years of related administrative/research experience Strong relational and organizational skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Must be open to learning, demonstrate flexibility Motivation and ability to work independently as well as on a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint) Working knowledge of analytical programs (NVIVO, SPSS) Experience with PeopleSoft or similar platform for processing payments to vendors Application Deadline March 24, 2026 We would like to thank all applicants in advance for submitting their resumes.
