Our Whiteshell location is looking for a Decommissioning Specialist to support critical Decommissioning & Demolition (D&D) activities within the Waste Management Area. Apply today! What Will You Be Doing Plan, prepare, and deliver detailed work packages supporting the IntermediateLevel Waste (ILW) Manual Retrieval Project. Develop technical documentation including work scopes, procedures, estimates, schedules, and supporting materials. Provide oversight and support for field changes during project execution to ensure alignment with approved plans and requirements. Conduct field walkdowns to verify facility conditions against documented designs and work plans. Identify and implement practical and innovative solutions to dismantling, demolition, and waste management challenges. Coordinate and monitor work performed by external contractors and service providers. Participate in or lead prejob and postjob reviews to support safe, efficient execution. Interface with design teams, operations engineers, technical specialists, and other subject matter experts to meet project and client requirements. Ensure project deliverables meet quality, safety, schedule, and budget objectives. Identify, assess, and initiate changes to approved designs, work scopes, budgets, and schedules accordance with formal change control processes. Other duties as assigned by your manager. What We Are Looking For Education Bachelors degree in Engineering or Applied Science from a university of recognized standing, or significant related experience in a technical field relevant to decommissioning. Experience Experience working in a nuclear operational or decommissioning environment. Experience with operational equipment, remote tooling, and ventilation systems. Experience working with contractors in an industrial or regulated setting. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of systems, structures, and components associated with nuclear facilities. Awareness of the National Building Code, National Fire Code, and applicable company program manuals as they apply to decommissioning activities. Knowledge of radiation protection principles, contamination control, and radiation measurement practices. Familiarity with safety regulations, guidelines, standards, and codes relevant to nuclear decommissioning. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce highquality technical documentation. Resultsdriven approach with the ability to interpret project requirements and implement practical solutions. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, stakeholders, and management. Ability to manage competing priorities in a regulated environment. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex drawings and technical specifications in paper or electronic format. Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook). Security Clearance Eligibility Required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. Working Conditions Combination of officebased work requiring regular computer use and onsite field activities. Regular site visits during all stages of the project. Required use of personal protective equipment and strict adherence to safety, radiation protection, and CNL safework practices.
