The candidate must be able to perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.Clinical and Technical DutiesTreat each patient and customer with the highest level of compassion & careAssist doctors with appointments, surgery, and client education to enable them to focus on the overall care the patient requires.Obtain and prepare laboratory samples such as blood, urine, fecal and ear cytology, and samples for external laboratory analysis eg. histopathology, cytology, and culture and sensitivityRestrain animals in a safe, efficient, and compassionate manner during examinations and procedures.Blood draws, IVC placement, patient stabilization and emergency triageMonitor anesthesia and recovery of surgery patients and communicate with ownersInstrument sterilization & wrappingMonitor hospitalized pets and administer treatments with compassionate care.Utilize hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and teammates.Tasks may involve kneeling, crawling, bending, balancing, and crouching.The CandidateRegistered Veterinary Technician (RVT)Passed the VTNE or soon will be passing the VTNEExceptional client communication and education skillsAbility to stay focused and perform procedures in a fast paced settingFlexible schedule such as weekend and holiday shiftsAdvanced animal handling, restraint, surgical, and medical procedures experienceAbility to follow and demonstrate proper and safe digital radiology proceduresMust be able to lift up to 50lbs as the job requires lifting, cleaning, and constant motionAbility to work around sick or fractious animals, zoonotic diseases, hazardous materials, and cleaning chemicals and anesthetic gas.Galaxy Vets is an equal opportunity employer.
