Job Description

SUMMARY The Manager of Data Analytics focuses on working hands-on with the team as a builder, leading the analytics team in delivering high-quality data insights and supporting business decision-making. This role manages Team Leads, BI Analysts, and Data Engineers, translating strategic vision into actionable analytics projects, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making. The role will possess a strong technical background in data infrastructure, analytics engineering, and statistical modeling, combined with exceptional leadership and communication skills. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and Execute Data Analytics Strategy Create and implement a comprehensive analytics strategy that aligns with Metro Supply Chains business objectives and growth targets. Identify opportunities to leverage data for innovation and operational efficiency across supply chain functions (warehousing, transportation, contract packaging). Lead and Develop Analytics Team Manage, mentor, and coach a team of analytics professionals (team leads, BI analysts, data engineers), fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. Optimize team structure and workflows to maximize performance and support business objectives. Conduct regular 1:1s and provide guidance for professional growth and skill development. Deliver Actionable Data Insights and Reporting Oversee the creation of timely, relevant reports and dashboards that provide insights into sales trends, customer behaviors, inventory management, and other KPIs. Ensure data-driven recommendations are clear and actionable for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Design and Maintain Analytical Dashboards Develop and maintain dashboards that promote data-driven decision-making across the business. Uphold data integrity through systematic quality checks and collaborate with data engineering to resolve inconsistencies. Proactively seek and integrate new data sources to refine decision-making processes. Drive Advanced Analytics Initiatives Apply advanced analytics techniques (predictive modeling, segmentation, machine learning) to uncover deeper insights into customer preferences, demand forecasting, and process optimization. Champion the adoption of analytics and data-driven practices across departments. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Operations, IT, HR, Finance, and other teams to understand business needs and deliver data-driven solutions. Translate complex analytics concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. Team Management & Continuous Learning Review staffing plans, work schedules, and oversee daily operations to ensure optimal team capacity and resource allocation. Stay updated with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in analytics and BI. Share insights and coach team members to foster continuous improvement and skill development. EDUCATION Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, Masters) in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Data Science) EXPERIENCE 5+ years of analytics experience and team management of 5 or more analysts.
