We are looking for a talented and committed individual to join us as a Human Resources Coordinator to support the governments efforts to protect the environment and advance a new economy in which waste is reused, recycled, and reintegrated. Human Resources Coordinator Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, youll be responsible for administration, coordination and maintenance of employee data and information to ensure accurate processing of payroll and benefits and integration with other HR processes. This role also supports the day-to-day administration and delivery of HR services including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, workforce and HR metrics tracking, and responding to employee inquires, and duties to support smooth HR and Payroll operations. Essential Job Duties: Human Resources Administration Support the end-to-end full-cycle recruitment and selection process (including updating job descriptions, posting internally and externally, sourcing, screening, shortlisting, interviewing, developing interview guides and supporting managers on the selection of the ideal candidate. Coach hiring managers as required in the interview and evaluation process Arrange and administer reference checks and background checking process Create documents such as offer letters, contracts, agreements, promotion letters, etc. Ensure required documents are signed, filed in a timely manner. Partner and manage external recruitment partners Facilitate third-party background and reference checks Responsible for the onboarding and offboarding of employees and related processes. Maintain HR performance metrics and other data required for internal and external reporting. Support the compensation and annual merit pay awards process. Support compensation benchmarking process by compiling internal data and analyzing external market surveys to inform the organizations pay structure Payroll and Benefits Administration Maintain and update employee information in payroll, benefits and HR systems Support the preparation of semi-monthly payroll for all employees Support the preparation of monthly remuneration of Board members Track and process appropriate, approved, timely adjustments to employee earnings and deductions to ensure that all salaries are paid accurately and in a timely manner ensuring compliance with policies and established financial, legal and/or legislative requirements Responsible for on-boarding new employees or off-board employees, including verification and processing of forms and documentation to accurately and efficiently process payroll and benefits Supports audit requirements for payroll and HR Responds to and resolve payroll, benefits and policy inquiries from employees Support the payroll/G/L reconciliation and monthly G/L processing for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with established guidelines Maintain, track and report actual headcount compared to approved budget Support the tracking and forecasting of salary and benefit expenses and annual budget Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Education: Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience Experience Minimum three to five years of experience Knowledge of all applicable Ontario employment laws, including Employment Standards, Human Rights, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities (AODA) an asset Hands on experience with payroll and HR systems, and supporting finance and accounting Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, conditional formatting, array formulas etc.) Other knowledge, skills, abilities or certifications: An effective team player with a positive and collaborative approach to working with colleagues within a fast-paced team environment. Strong work ethic, sense of responsibility and confidentiality, with the ability to work independently. Adaptable to an environment of continuous change with the ability to pivot promptly. This is a contract full-time role working Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility as needed. Our highly attractive total compensation plan includes a competitive salary (commensurate with experience), health benefits, personal days, and three weeks of vacation to start.
