About the Role: The HR Generalist will support multiple human resources functions across Canadian and U.S. operations: including payroll administration, talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits management, and other HR programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate brings experience in multiple facets of HR, cross-border employment knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization. This role reports to the HR Manager. The Company follows a hybrid work model, with employees in the office from Tuesday through Thursday. Job Requirements Oversee and process full-cycle payroll for Canadian and U.S. operations. Maintain and audit payroll records for accuracy, resolving discrepancies promptly and escalating issues as required. Participate in HR system implementations, upgrades, and migrations. Serve as a key contact for payroll and HR system queries and troubleshooting. Administer group benefits programs for Canadian and U.S. employees. Support HR programs, including performance management, compensation benchmarking, employee surveys, and policy development. Collaborate with hiring managers on recruitment needs, including creating job descriptions, sourcing, screening, interviewing, conducting reference checks, and extending offers. Facilitate onboarding of new hires and coordinate equipment, system set up and orientation. Act as a point of contact for employees regarding workplace inquiries and HR guidance. Monitor and interpret employment standards legislation in Canada and the U.S., and determine required actions or policy updates. Prepare and review HR correspondence employment agreements, separation letters, HR communications. Promote workplace culture and employee engagement through HR initiatives and team-building activities. Support administrative and office tasks across all office locations, as needed. Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned. Requirements Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR Generalist or related experience. Experience processing payroll in both Canada and the U.S. is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation, employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, and privacy laws. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams); intermediate Excel skills required. Occasional travel between Canadian and U.S. office locations may be required. Typical hiring range for this position is between $70,000 - $87,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The Company offers annual bonus, group benefits and RSP program.
