The St. Ignatius School Board invites applications for the position of Principal. St. Ignatius School serves approximately 290 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 across two campuses: Main Campus on Harrow Street and the RINK Campus at South Landing. Rooted in the Catholic faith and inspired by the traditions of Ignatian spirituality, the school is committed to nurturing the spiritual, academic, and personal growth of each student. St. Ignatius School is known for its strong sense of community, dedicated staff, and commitment to developing the whole child spiritually, intellectually, socially, and physically. With a long tradition of academic excellence and faith formation, the school works in partnership with families and the parish community to cultivate students who are compassionate, reflective, and committed to service. The successful candidate will be a faith-filled, visionary leader who will guide the school community in fostering excellence in Catholic education, strong relationships with families, and a collaborative staff culture. Key Areas of Responsibility Spiritual Leadership Providing faith-based leadership that reflects the mission and values of Catholic education Promoting and nurturing the spiritual life of the school community Instructional Leadership Leading and supporting high-quality teaching and learning Fostering a positive, collaborative school culture among staff, students, and families Managing the day-to-day operations of both campuses Overseeing staff supervision, development, and evaluation Supporting student wellbeing, inclusion, and academic success Financial Stewardship Working closely with the School Board, Pastor, and Archdiocese of Winnipeg Catholic Schools Ensuring responsible financial stewardship and resource management Community Engagement and Communication Strengthening community engagement and communication with families Serving as the public representative of the school, increasing awareness of its mission and strengthening its Catholic identity Qualifications Be a practicing Roman Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic education Hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate Graduatelevel training in educational leadership (or be working toward it) Demonstrate successful teaching and leadership experience Show a strong understanding of Catholic identity and faith formation in schools Demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Have experience fostering collaborative professional cultures Be capable of leading a multicampus school environment The ideal candidate will be: A faith witness and servant leader A collaborative and supportive mentor to staff A strategic thinker with strong organizational skills A compassionate presence for students and families Committed to Ignatian values of reflection, service, and excellence Application Process A cover letter Curriculum vitae Statement of educational leadership philosophy Three professional references, including a Pastoral reference The St. Ignatius School Board is actively involved in the recruitment and selection process.
