The Senior Policing Analyst provides strategic leadership, subject matter expertise, and policy direction for a broad and growing portfolio of specialized policing programs that support community safety and wellbeing across Alberta. Situated within the Integrated Community Safety and Specialized Policing Unit (ICSSPU), this role works at the intersection of justice, law enforcement, social, and health systems to address complex criminogenic factors, emerging risks, and priority offender populations. This position exercises authority and influence over provincial specialized policing programs and related policy, ensuring initiatives are evidenceinformed, operationally relevant, and aligned with broader government priorities. The Senior Policing Analyst leads collaborative approaches to public safety issues through engagement with Police Advisory Committees and crossministry and crossjurisdictional tables, integrating stakeholder perspectives into cohesive policy and program outcomes. The role also provides critical support to Albertas police services and addresses citizen and industry concerns related to specialized policing. Key Responsibilities include: Providing leadership and oversight for provincial specialized policing programs, including program and policy development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement. Leading issue identification, needs assessment, and solution development to strengthen police responses to complex and emerging public safety challenges. Developing, implementing, and maintaining provincial policy and program documentation, including policing standards, operational frameworks, bestpractice guides, and police and publicfacing resources. Providing strategic oversight across specialized policing program areas, including the provinces integrated offender management program for priority and prolific/repeat offenders; police response to genderbased violence including family and sexual violence; police response to mental health and addictions; illicit and emerging substances; highrisk offenders; law enforcement justifications; police emergency alerting; and police and peace officer recognition initiatives. Leading and supporting crossministry and multisector initiatives that advance integrated service delivery and coordinated responses to crime and its root causes. Preparing briefing materials, policy options, and correspondence for department executives and senior officials; participate in federalprovincialterritorial forums as required; and lead or support emerging initiatives, special projects, and grantsupported programs. Build and maintain strong crossministry and stakeholder relationships to advance integrated service delivery. Role Responsibilities Cont.
