Who we are Yukon Governments Department of Health and Social Services provides a range of services and supports for citizens to experience health and wellness throughout their lives. The scope of this work includes community and mental wellness, social supports, and planning for long-term healthy outcomes for the population. The Senior Privacy Analyst provides highly specialized, senior level health privacy policy expertise, analysis and strategic advice to the Department of Health and Social Services (H&SS), the Chief Information Officer HSS Information Services, H&SS Senior Management and other Yukon government staff and contractors. Your impact The position will develop policies, procedures and best practices to establish a health and social services privacy and information management regime for the Yukon that is comparable to other Canadian health privacy regimes. This strategic advice and work will be critical to improvements of Yukons health and social services systems including Yukons ability to participate in national initiatives involving electronic health information systems. This work will contribute to quality patient and client care, while supporting appropriate information sharing amongst care providers in a privacy protected manner. Post-secondary degree, in social or health sciences, public administration or related fields Extensive experience interpreting and providing advice/guidance on the Health Information Privacy and Management Act, the Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act and other relevant legislation. Experience as the lead person in researching, assessing and developing policy options within the Department of Health and Social Services Experience with the development of health and/or social services privacy related policies Experience developing and implementing legislation is an asset Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
