The Drafter will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and designs based on engineering specifications, preparing and revising blueprints, and supporting the engineering team with project documentation. The role will also involve working collaboratively with departments to ensure designs align with project goals, standards, and regulations, as well as maintaining accurate records and related documentation.Role ResponsibilitiesDrafting & DocumentationCreate and maintain 2D manufacturing drawings and schematics for sheet metal components and assemblies.Generate flat patterns and bend schematics for press brake operations.Prepare laser cutting nests to maximize material utilization and production efficiency.Produce detailed fabrication drawings, including:Bend directionsBend anglesHole locations and tolerancesMaintain accurate drawing revisions and documentation control.Manufacturing SupportWork with production teams to resolve fabrication issues and update drawings accordingly.Optimize nesting layouts to reduce scrap and material costs.Support prototype builds and adjust drawings as needed.Scan parts using a 2D Digitizer scanner and transfer then into DXF files.CAD & Data ManagementMaintain CAD models and drawings in the company's PDM system.Generate DXF files for laser cutting.Ensure correct flat patterns and bend deductions are applied.Organize part files and revision history.Required QualificationsDiploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field5+ years experience in mechanical drafting or sheet metal fabrication environmentStrong experience with sheet metal drawingsExperience preparing laser cutting files and nestsKnowledge of press brake bending and sheet metal fabrication practicesCAD SoftwareExperience with the following Softwares:Siemens NX - AdvantageSolidWorks - AdvantageAutoCAD Strong skill is a mustBysoft Nesting Software Advantage2D Digitizer Scanning Advantage3D Scanning - Advantage Preferred QualificationsExperience in vehicle, heavy equipment, or defense manufacturingUnderstanding of:Bend allowanceK-factorMinimum flange rulesSheet metal tolerancesFamiliarity with laser nesting softwareExperience working with high-strength steels or armor materialsKey SkillsStrong attention to detailGood understanding of manufacturing processesAbility to interpret engineering designs into fabrication drawingsStrong communication with shop floor personnelAbility to manage multiple drawing revisions and prioritiesSalary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per annumINKAS CommitmentINKAS is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees and to providing employees with a work environment free of discrimination and harassment.
