Position: Finance & Audit Committee MemberEligibility: Must be a Chippewas of the Thames First Nation member and not a current employee of COTTFN (to avoid conflicts of interest).Term: 3 years Responsibilities: In-person attendance of regularly schedule meetings and other scheduled meetings as required Participation in COTTFN specific financial management training and development as provided by the Nation Reviewing and analyzing financial reports, budgets, and financial forecasts Supporting oversight of audit processes and internal controls Promoting accountability and transparency in financial decision-making Providing input on financial strategy, planning, and risk management Identifying potential financial risks and recommending mitigation approaches Ideal Candidate Has: 35 years of experience in a business-oriented role (or comparable experience) Knowledge of financial management, budgeting, and interpreting financial information Experience or interest in strategic planning and analyzing risk Strong ethics, confidentiality, and professional judgment A collaborative, solutions-focused approach Students encouraged to apply: If you are a business or finance student, we encourage you to applythis can be an excellent professional development opportunity to build governance and finance experience.
