DATE: Feb 13, 2026 REPORTS TO: Executive Director ABOUT THE LEFTOVERS FOUNDATION The Leftovers Foundations mission is to reduce food waste and prevent the greenhouse gas emissions caused when good food is left to rot. We believe one of the best ways to do that is to get the food to community organizations working with vulnerable populations, ensuring that it can be used where food is most needed. Our flagship program, Rescue Food, mobilizes volunteers through a dedicated app to connect local vendors who have surplus food to service agencies running food access programming. Leftovers currently operates in Calgary, Edmonton, Hinton, Airdrie, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Winnipeg, Selkirk, and Gimli. Leftovers is currently a fully remote organization, with the majority of our staff working primarily from home. To learn more about the actions were taking, visit PURPOSE The Community & Projects Manager oversees the general management of operations, which includes program development, delivery, and evaluation, community engagement, and staff oversight and development. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Program Management Support overall strategy and planning of all programs (Rescue Food, Home Harvest, Warehouse Operations) across all locations. Manage program budget in consultation with the Executive Director. Responsible for overall program execution, including oversight of program performance in all locations and achieving target Key Performance Indicators. Manage and oversee all assets and equipment of Leftovers needed in the course of program execution. Liaise with app development team on features and bugs, and manage relationship between Leftovers and app team. Ensure consistent food donor outreach across all locations to continually grow program impact. Explore and oversee geographical expansion as opportunities arise in consultation with the Executive Director. Explore new avenues of food rescue and related activities as the opportunity arises in consultation with the Executive Director. Engagement Oversee program outreach and community engagement across all locations, ensuring Leftovers has an active presence in each community. Develop and maintain relationships with other food rescue and food security organizations. Lead opportunities for the broader staff team to deepen their knowledge and understanding of food waste, food security, and the overall food system. Ensure Leftovers is represented professionally and positively in the public and all community engagement. Ensure an overall positive volunteer experience across all locations, striving for a cohesive Leftovers culture. Oversee volunteer recruitment and retention across all locations. Operational and Marketing Staff Support Recruit, train, and coach program staff, empowering them to increase their level of responsibility and performance. Be a leader in the organization by demonstrating a high standard of professionalism, compassion, and enthusiasm for the organizations mission. Continue to develop and support evaluating the organization through an IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility) lens working to ensure these principles are integrated across the organization. Additional Responsibilities Support other departments as required (fund development, communication, and admin). Work with the Executive Director and other staff within the organization to ensure the overall success of Leftovers. Qualifications and Experience: 1+ years of non-profit management experience. 2-5 years experience in a related industry. Social media and communications experience. Grant writing experience preferred. Event planning experience an asset. Compensation: $26/hour up to 30 hours per week. 1-year contract, starting early March, 2026.
