The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and effectively scheduling production employees to meet daily production targets and quality standards. This role ensures staff are properly trained in production methods, safety practices, company policies, and food safety procedures. The Production Supervisor identifies and resolves operational challenges, health and safety risks, and productivity concerns on the plant floor. Through effective leadership, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives, the Production Supervisor contributes to achieving production efficiency goals and the overall success of plant operations. Please note that this is a Night Shift position which will require a training period which will take place during the day shift hours. This is a one year contract with a possible extension. Responsibilities: Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of production employees. Identify, investigate, document, and resolve operational issues and safety concerns. Establish methods to meet work schedules and coordinate activities with other departments and shifts. Conduct daily stand-up meetings covering production performance, safety, quality, and operational priorities. Troubleshoot production challenges including dough processing issues, equipment performance concerns, and product quality deviations. Recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, efficiency, and workflow. Ensure accurate completion of production tracking and material consumption reporting. Address employee concerns and collaborate with management to resolve workplace issues. Enforce health & safety, GMP, sanitation, and food safety standards. Motivate employees through positive reinforcement and effective leadership practices to maintain morale and engagement. Monitor, evaluate, and document employee performance. Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate interdepartmental operations and optimize production flow. Review work orders, production schedules, and operational reports to determine production requirements and evaluate performance against targets. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and performance reports. Train employees on job duties, safe work procedures, and company policies. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications: Post-secondary education in a related discipline (Operations, Food Science, or similar) Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing or food production. Demonstrated safety-first mindset with strong commitment to workplace safety. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production equipment issues. Proven ability to motivate, train, coach, and manage employee performance. Strong leadership and team-building capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate situations and develop effective solutions. High level of adaptability, resourcefulness, and organizational ability. Ability to plan, organize, implement, and interpret operational programs, policies, and procedures. Strong prioritization and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word). Experience with ERP systems is an asset. Sanitation and food safety experience considered an asset. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Flexibility to work overtime on Saturdays as required. Demonstrated commitment to employee development and coaching.
