Position Summary The Senior Business Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Hamilton, ON. In this position, you will report to the Manager, Policy, Planning and Performance. The Senior Business Analyst provides senior technical ownership of organizational information systems, including CaseWORKS and UKG. This senior role establishes configuration, reporting, and governance standards; serves as the primary point of contact for complex or high-risk system issues; leads system stabilization and upgrades; and ensures client and workforce data is reliable, documented, and fit for operational and strategic use through standardized reporting. While this role provides technical and analytical support to payroll, employment, and staffing processes, it does not hold responsibility for payroll processing or labour relations, which remain under HR. Additionally, this role does not manage infrastructure, hardware, or network services, which remain under Information Technology (IT). Position Responsibilities Core Responsibilities Across Information Systems: Provide senior technical oversight of organizational information systems, including configuration,documentation, change management, and standards to ensure consistency, reliability, and continuity. Establish and maintain system-related policies, procedures, configuration standards, reporting logic, datadefinitions, and documentation. Assess, approve, prioritize, and oversee system change requests, major updates, and upgrades, including impact analysis, testing, coordination, and communication. Design, govern, and maintain standardized system-based reports, dashboards, and workforce indicators,including complex data extractions, to support operational monitoring, staffing reviews, evaluations, anddecision-making. Identify recurring reporting and data needs and develop standardized or automated solutions to improveaccess to reliable information and reduce manual or ad-hoc reporting. Ensure data quality, accuracy, and system reliability through disciplined testing, validation, and change control practices. Identify system limitations and recommend practical improvements to enhance usability and performance. Provide guidance and training to users on system functionality, standards, and expectations. Collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, operational leaders, and vendors to translate business requirements into sustainable system solutions and resolve complex or high-risk technical issues. Support organizational readiness for enhanced analytics, reporting tools, and data modernization. Provide coverage across the department for information systems related needs, including during absences,peak workload periods, or transitions. Workforce Management System (UKG) Priority Projects Lead the stabilization of UKG by identifying, prioritizing, and resolving configuration and data issues, and applying governance, reporting, and documentation standards to ensure reliable workforce data. Serve as the primary technical and analytical owner of UKG workforce indicators, including the design, configuration, and maintenance of rules, thresholds, alerts, and reporting to support proactive monitoring. Lead the configuration, rollout, and stabilization of UKG scheduling and shift-offering functionality. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology, Business Administration, Commerce, Business Analytics or a related field. Post-graduate certificate in Business Analysis, Data Analytics, HRIS, or a related field is nice to have. 5+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting, administering, and configuring information systems such as workforce management or case management platforms.
