Downtown Toronto (Ryerson), Canada | Posted on 03/19/2026 Project: Ontario Business Registry (OBR) Multi-Jurisdictional Registry Access Service (MRAS), Phases 2 & 3 Engagement: Providing specialized testing expertise, including guidance on testing strategy and test plans. Role Overview The Sr. Systems Testing/QA Specialist will provide expert-level guidance and handson support across multiple testing phases. The specialist will advise on testing strategies, develop detailed test documentation, plan and execute system-level tests, and collaborate with testing leads, IT leads, and project team members on analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing system support. Responsibilities - Provide advice on testing strategy, test plans, selection of testing tools, and identification of testing resources. - Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in GUI and nonGUI environments. - Execute system integration tests, specialized tests, and user acceptance testing (including stress tests). - Develop test plans, test scripts, and test cases; execute them against various system components. - Work collaboratively with the testing lead, IT lead, and project team members throughout system development and support phases. Must Have - Experience in process, planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts. - Experience with manual testing. - Analysis of business rules. - Creation of test cases. Experience and Skill Set Requirements Quality Assurance Methodology 55% - Senior System Tester with 5+ years of experience in process, planning, organizing, and implementing testing efforts. - Experience with manual testing. - Experience working with COTS software. - Knowledge and experience in testing Registry systems (e.g., Catalyst). - Knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and project management. - Knowledge of application development methodologies, techniques, and structured methods. Quality Assurance Experience 35% - Analysis and design methodology and structured testing techniques. - Analysis of business requirements and functional designs. - Knowledge of risk-based and evidence-based testing. - Analysis of business rules; creation of test cases and traceability matrix. - Defining expected results. - Creation of test data and test user accounts. - Creation of database queries to select test data and ensure database integrity. - Recording test results in Microfocus ALM/JIRA. - Experience defining entry, exit, and acceptance testing criteria.
