This is a hybrid position and based out of our Guelph office. Key Responsibilities Include Month-End Prepare complex month end journal entries including accruals and assists management with entry approvals and posting Analyze income statement accounts for variances and compliance with accounting policy Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, review upon completion, and work with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to resolve related issues Summarize account reconciliation to management, discuss identified issues and trends, and prepare summary of risk items for same Maintain journal entry and account reconciliation monthly check lists for use by other staff Recommend efficiencies and methods of optimization and standardization for month end processes Assist in preparation of monthly financial statement by performing analysis, explaining variances and other discrepancies, and ensuring work is performed in accordance with timelines Assist to complete quarter end review and year end audit and investigate and resolve issues relating to same Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls, policies, and procedures Compliance and Reporting Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to internal customers, parent company, Statistics Canada, board of directors and lenders by providing high level reporting and analysis and assistance team members to resolve issues Participate in standardization and optimization projects around JSOX and other business processes Lead various cross functional projects and participate in national projects, as necessary Requirements Post-secondary education in business administration, accounting, finance or equivalent. Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience Experience in a manufacturing or consumer packaged goods environment would be considered an asset Previous exposure to ERP systems, particularly Oracle R12, would be a strong asset Strong problem solving and analytical skills Excellent computer skills for all programs within Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact cross-functionally and with all levels of management Proactive team player to optimize processes around accurate accounting and reporting of financial information Ability to project values compatible with the organization Working Conditions Travel may be required Overtime may be required Think you have what we need, but your credentials dont perfectly line up?
