Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the Cleaning Lead Supervisor is responsible for the daytoday cleaning operations of the terminal buildings for a particular shift, ensuring they are clean and safe for passengers, airport staff, building tenants, and employees. Main Duties and Responsibilities Maintains positive relationship with SSOs (client) through daily contact to discuss areas of concern, report on deficiencies and obtain any new assignments. Ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the terminal buildings. Review/respond in a timely fashion to all client requests. Organizes and attends regular meetings with client and Director of Operations as required. Determines frontline vacancies and obtains approval from the Director of Operations. Manages preventative maintenance program for all onsite equipment. Accountable for building keys, radios, cell phones, and any work devices assigned to the shift. Inspects the worksite on an ongoing basis to ensure the delivery of services is consistent with the work specifications and required Quality Assurance standards. Regularly inspects/audits areas with supervisors to ensure tasks are performed properly and quality of work is maintained at expected levels. Regularly holds meetings with team to review shift and/or contract performance delivery and address safety issues, review/discuss training etc. Periodically reviews efficiencies of the shift operations and assists Director of Operations in improving and upgrading standards, work schedules, etc. Uses the designated technology for the Shift Lead role and ensures it is being used by frontline and supervisory staff as required to ensure quality, contract and risk management compliance. Drives compliance with ISO processes and accreditations. Identify and resolve problems and informs or involves the Director of Operations and Director of Support Services (HR) as necessary. Documents all complaints and ensures a resolution. Organizes and delivers training to supervisors, including any specialized new cleaning techniques. Monitors, documents and ensures the ongoing training of all personnel. Ensure all frontline staff are assigned duties and deployed to their area of work within 20 minutes. Ensure staff allocation of duties/general direction and checking of work throughout the day. Promote Health and Safety within the team and raise awareness amongst all the staff of appropriate Health and Safety regulations. Report any building deficiencies to the IOCC/SSOs in a timely fashion. Maintain records and submit reports concerning personnel, equipment, supplies and general nonroutine activities at the end of daily shift. Ensure adequate supplies of cleaning materials and equipment are available as required and take necessary action to correct equipment in need of repair or replacement. Complete all necessary management training and ensures all supervisors are compliant. Ensures appropriate technical training for frontline staff, including specialized cleaning. Ensure followup reviews are completed for all new hires. Monitor and ensure the ongoing training of all personnel. Inspect/audit cleaning procedures with personnel of the assigned area; recommend, correct and implement changes in procedures as necessary. Ensures effective communication between teams, providing daily updates as necessary on all operational issues and concerns. Investigates and resolves ongoing reported absences. As necessary reorganise staff schedules to cover areas during holidays, sickness and changes in weather conditions. Sets an example for associates and supervisors to follow by incorporating safe work practices in all aspects of their activities and abiding by the clients & companys safety policies and procedures. Complete Employee injury reports, offer modified work as necessary and follow up on employee status; fully assist injured workers to ensure participation in the early and safe return to work process as per our RTW policy. Investigates incidents/injuries/near misses to determine root cause and immediately implement any corrective actions Reports injuries within 24 hours to the Claims Dept. Investigates any incidents between employees including but not limited to violence in the workplace and harassment allegations. Ensure resolution is attained and documented. Ensures safety devices and PPE are available and properly utilized. Ensures use of technology by frontline staff is being used. Motivate and encourage staff and supervisors to work efficiently and achieve a high standard of work. Communicates with Shift Coordinator to manage frontline staff vacation requests and ensures vacation calendar is posted as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Always maintains confidentiality in respect of company related matters and to prevent disclosure of confidential or sensitive information. Performs miscellaneous jobrelated duties as assigned. Qualifications Who's we look for? Previous experience in a cleaning environment. Previous experience supervising a team. Customer and client focused. The ability to implement and adhere to standards and procedures. Health and Safety experience including understanding the supervisors responsibilities under OHSA. Basic office skills including but not limited to email, Word, Excel. Ability to use IOS technology base platforms. Good interpersonal skills. Smart appearance and professional manner. Resilience, with the ability to work under pressure; Pearson is a 24/7 business environment. Supervisors will be required to work the hours that will encompass the core shift hours for client visits.
