JOB OPPORTUNITY: TEMPORARY OPIATE CASE MANAGER A NEW LINK Contract 12 months with possible extension up to 18 months SUMMARY: A New Link is an outpatient harm reduction program for pregnant or parenting women. The Opiate Case Manager reports to the Program Coordinator at A New Link and works closely with the Executive Director and all other staff to support women in recovery. The Opiate Case Manager at A New Link functions within legislative requirements, regulations, policies and procedures and the philosophy, mission, vision and values of the Algoma Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Centre. Duties and Responsibilities Liaise with Methadone Maintenance programs and existing pregnancy/parent outreach initiatives to identify women in need of substance abuse services Work collaboratively with other addiction services within the continuum including withdrawal management services, assessment and referral services, residential and non-residential services, etc., and develop protocols where appropriate Provide individual and group counselling, case management and referrals to pregnant and parenting women with substance use concerns in collaboration with existing service providers Participate in existing community networks Complete intake, screening and assessment activities Complete all relevant documentation related to client service delivery Learn and use provincial database (CATALYST) proficiently Participate in quarterly committee meetings as assigned Participate in weekly supervision meetings Develop an information package which may be distributed by partners to women in this target group Provide updates to Breton House staff at regular intervals regarding any opioid agonist treatment updates or best practices Complete any administration tasks as part of a daily routine Complete general cleaning of agency Ability to work independently or as part of a team Flexible, adaptable and open to change Excellent oral and written skills Qualifications Bachelor level education in Social Work or the equivalent combination of education and experience 3-5 years experience in the field of addiction Registration with CACCF or other regulatory body required Experience working in community-based settings and familiarity with a community development approach Experience providing counselling and outreach services to individuals who are encountering substance use problems or concerns Experience working from a harm reductions perspective with individuals who are pregnant or using substances Experience with the Child Welfare System, CAS and a working knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act Access to vehicle is an asset Ability to provide services in a bilingual format is an asset Hours and Compensation The Opiate Case Manager position is an in-office, full-time position Monday through Friday. Regular work hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm, however additional hours may be required outside of regular work hours on an as-needed basis. After a successful probationary period of six (6) months, you will have access to paid sick days, paid vacation, and benefits package. Rate of Pay The rate of pay for this position is $26.50 $27.00.
