Staff Accountant Annual Salary Range: $85,000 $108,000; Target Bonus: 10% (one existing vacancy) Dryden Fibre Canada is currently seeking an individual to join the Dryden Team. The city of Dryden is located on the North shoreline of the Wabigoon Chain of Lakes along the Trans-Canada Highway. It is located midway between Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Thunder Bay, Ontario, and is surrounded by wilderness, lakes, and landscapes. Your Role: Reporting to the Senior Accountant, your role will be to provide professional accounting expertise to support accurate financial reporting for the Dryden mill. This position will be responsible for corporate finance functions, support for the local finance and payroll teams and monthly reporting/analysis. Responsibilities: Perform Sales accounting and assist with invoicing and accounts receivable collections. Maintain accounts receivable process. Perform month end closing responsibilities, including posting journal entries and inventory movements. Review/prepare monthly accounting and financial reports including period variance analysis. Weekly/monthly maintenance reporting and ad hoc project work by request. Provide audit support (internal and external). Assist in preparation and analysis of annual budget and quarterly forecasting. Liaison with corporate Finance for consolidation entries. Provide coverage to support the mill Finance team. Your profile: BBA/BComm in Accounting. CPA professional designation or working towards a CPA designation would be an asset. Experience working in Finance within a manufacturing environment would be an asset. Expert knowledge and understanding of technical accounting treatment and internal controls and working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Advanced computer skills and systems knowledge with experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables etc. and experience working in ERP systems specifically, SAP would be an asset Good communicator at all levels of organization, in both written and verbal formats. Excellent time management and organization skills to meet deadlines with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to change in a dynamic environment. Self-sufficient, proactive, results-driven, and detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy. Analytical approach to problem solving and critical thinking, with a willingness to challenge the status quo or reported figures, seek opportunities to continuously improve processes, ask questions and probe others to ensure that the correct answers are obtained.
