The OCSB is currently seeking a Long Term Occasional teacher to provide coverage for a teacher on leave at the school indicated in the posting. Required Qualifications Applicants must be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. Successful completion of the Sexual Abuse Prevention Training through OCT. Salary The salary of each Teacher will be determined in accordance with Article 32 of the OECTA Collective Agreement. Effective September 1, 2025, teacher salaries will range from $51,234.00 to $119,943.00. Process for Selection The school board shall identify the three most senior applicants to the LTO assignment posting who are available for the assignment and hold the required qualifications. An Occasional Teacher shall be considered available for the assignment if the teacher has not already been assigned to another LTO position during the term of the LTO assignment being filled. Each of the three most senior applicants shall be contacted and asked to confirm that they wish to be considered for the position. If any applicant declines, the board shall contact the next most senior qualified applicant, thereby ensuring that five applicants are considered. If less than three (3) qualified applicants apply, the school board shall select the successful applicant from the qualified applicants. If no qualified occasional teachers apply or if all qualified applicants decline, the school board may hire an external qualified teacher not on the OCSB roster to fill the assignment. The external teacher must first pass the OT interview process. AI Utilization AI may be utilized throughout the selection and recruitment process.
