Job Description

The Director, Finance is a senior enterprise finance leader responsible for shaping financial strategy, commercial governance, and enterprise profitability across Subaru Canada, Inc. This role reports to and serves as the primary strategic partner to the VP, Finance & CFO and provides leadership oversight across Financial Reporting, Planning, and Control. This role is based at Subaru Canadas head office in Mississauga, Ontario. The hiring range for this role is $160,000$180,000 CAD. Primary Responsibilities Provide enterprise-level financial leadership across all areas of the business. Manage and consolidate full P&Ls, including G&A oversight. Guide business decisions through KPI alignment and performance tracking. Develop enterprise KPIs to drive accountability. Partner with executive leadership to evaluate opportunities and align with long-term objectives. Vehicle Pricing, Incentives & Lifecycle Economics Participate in financial governance for vehicle pricing and incentive structures. Direct and indirect incentives Lease and finance subvention mechanics Retail and wholesale economics Residual value strategy and depreciation CPO program economics Understand full vehicle lifecycle: Production planning Allocation and wholesale Retail sales Incentive accrual and redemption Remarketing and residual exposure Oversee ROI analysis across incentive campaigns. Align pricing strategy with brand and financial performance. Extended Warranty & Insurance Economics Experience with OEM warranty and insurance products. Oversee: Warranty reserves Product profitability Reinsurance / obligor programs Optimize long-term profitability and risk. Ensure compliance and performance tracking. Electrification & Regulatory Strategy Knowledge of ICE, Hybrid, and EV economics. Understand GHG regulations and financial impact. Support electrification strategy decisions. Evaluate depreciation and CCA implications. Strategic Planning Lead mid- and long-term financial planning. Build multi-division strategic plans. Support global OEM alignment. Business Partnership Act as finance partner to: Sales Marketing Product Planning After-Sales Connected Services Captive Partners Encourage collaboration and challenge thinking. Elevate financial acumen across teams. Global OEM & Stakeholder Management Act as liaison with Subaru Corporation (Japan). Operate within global OEM structures. Lead discussions on: Incentives Pricing Residual values Capital allocation Build strong global relationships. Oversee budgeting and forecasting. Ensure IFRS compliance and audit readiness. Manage working capital and controls. Drive system and reporting improvements. Strategic Projects Drive high-impact business programs. Ensure clear KPIs and ROI tracking. Qualifications and Experience CPA designation or MBA 1015 years automotive experience 5+ years leadership experience: Automotive OEM Captive finance Distribution Experience with: P&L management Warranty programs Pricing strategy Lease & residual modeling CPO structures Japanese OEM exposure preferred Advanced financial modeling (e.g., OneStream) Bilingual (EN/FR) an asset Strong finance and compliance expertise Leadership Profile Strategic thinking Strong commercial instinct Executive presence Ability to challenge constructively Translate complexity into action Strong P&L ownership Collaborative leadership Physical Conditions Extended computer use Travel within Canada and internationally as required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
