Director of Maintenance (DOM) & Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) 135 MacLaurin Drive, Springbank Airport, Calgary, AB T3Z 3S4 Job Description L R HELICOPTERS INC. is seeking a qualified Director of Maintenance (DOM)/Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) to oversee the companys maintenance activities in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs). The DOM is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft maintenance activities conducted by the Approved Maintenance Organization are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements, the Transport Canada approved company Maintenance Policy Manual and company policies. The PRM is responsible for ensuring that the maintenance of company-operated aircraft is controlled in accordance with regulatory requirements, the Air Operator Transport Canada approved company Maintenance Control Manual and company policies. The successful candidate will work closely with aviation operations, engineering staff, and regulatory authorities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant maintenance operations. This position averages 40 hours per week over a 52-week cycle, with higher operational demand during peak summer operations. Director of Maintenance Responsibilities Maintenance Control & Regulatory Compliance Perform the duties of the Director of Maintenance for the Approved Maintenance Organization and the Person Responsible for Maintenance for the Air Operator. Ensure compliance with the company Maintenance Policy Manual and the Maintenance Control Manual and ensure that all approved procedures are followed. Maintain and update the Maintenance Control Manual (MCM) and the Maintenance Policy Manual as required. Ensure all maintenance is performed in accordance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and manufacturer requirements. Ensure that company-operated aircraft are maintained in accordance with their Transport Canada Maintenance Schedule Approval (MSA). Managing day-to-day maintenance, including scheduling, defect rectification, and technical dispatch. Ensure maintenance releases are issued by appropriately licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) in accordance with CAR 571. Ensure proper control and implementation of: Manufacturers maintenance procedures Airworthiness Directives (ADs) Service Bulletins and Service Letters Approved modifications and repairs. Quality Assurance and Safety Managing the Quality Assurance (QA) program in accordance with the company MPM, MCM and Quality Assurance Manual. Ensure maintenance activities support the company Safety Management System (SMS). Submit Service Difficulty Reports to Transport Canada when warranted. Ensure all maintenance personnel follow Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements and company safety procedures. Team Leadership and Coordination Supervise and support Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs) and apprentices. Coordinate training and type-specific maintenance qualifications. Liaise with flight operations to optimize aircraft availability and maintenance scheduling. Act as the primary liaison with Transport Canada regarding maintenance matters. Administration and Planning Work Order packages Technical records Journey logs Manage maintenance scheduling, tool control, inventory control, and assist with operational improvements. Support budgeting and planning for fleet operations. Qualifications As required by CAR 573.03(1)(b) an AMO Director of Maintenance must meet the knowledge requirements of CAR 573.03(1)(c)(i), or be the holder of an AME licence and must meet the experience and recency requirements as detailed in CAR Standard 573.04(1). Must be eligible to serve as an Air Operator Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM) as detailed in CAR 706.03(1). Transport Canada AME Licence (M1 and/or M2) or equivalent experience acceptable to Transport Canada. Minimum of 10 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including supervisory or leadership roles. Strong knowledge of: Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) Maintenance control systems Quality Assurance and Safety Management Systems. Helicopter maintenance experience of some or all of the following: AS350 Bell 212 Airbus H125 / EC120 Robinson R44 Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
