The Director is also responsible for the overall strategy and oversight of relations with new and current prospects, donors, and partners to enhance the CFCs profile and engagement with its communities. Working collaboratively across the organization, the Director will ensure alignment between fundraising priorities and the efforts of other teams, including marketing and communications. Key Responsibilities Strategic Fundraising Advance the mission of the CFC and build a strong culture of philanthropy across its communities Achieve the CFCs revenue requirements through corporate and philanthropic funding, with private sector fundraising support representing approximately 50% of the CFCs $5 million annual operating budget Create new and innovative ideas and initiatives tied to the CFCs strategic plan to engage new audiences, prospects and over 2,000 alumni to enhance engagement Actively contribute to the organizational strategic planning and support the development of a highperforming fundraising team Monitor trends in philanthropy and corporate partnerships to identify new opportunities and market segments Major Gifts and Donor Relations Develop and maintain strong relationships with key prospects and donors, managing a pipeline of prospects through the full cycle: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to grow the portfolio Secure donations/partnerships to drive and sustain revenue sources over multiple years for the organization Develop innovative engagement opportunities for donors as part of a high impact stewardship program Oversee donor reporting and budgets, ensuring robust data tracking, reporting and accountability Prepare regular reports for the Executive Director, senior leadership team and Board of Directors regarding fundraising progress and revenue objectives Leadership and Collaboration Actively participate as a key member of a seven-person Senior Leadership Team Collaborate across departments and internal teams to ensure an integrated approach to achieve revenue goals Foster an environment of inclusion, cooperation and professionalism Strengthen and streamline the fundraising process and develop new systems where needed to support growth Engage regularly with the Board of Directors and support their role in fundraising and donor engagement Advise the Executive Director on philanthropic trends, corporate partnerships and emerging opportunities Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in fundraising and business development in a resultsdriven capacity Demonstrated success in cultivating and closing major gifts and successfully managing relationships over time with major donors/partners Experience in corporate partnerships, establishing brand alignment and creative integration to support organizational objectives Ability to inspire donors and stakeholders around the organizations mission Experience leading campaigns and managing a pipeline of philanthropic opportunities Solutionsoriented, innovative and resourceful Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to engage with a broad array of communities Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team environment, as well as independently Excellent presentation and negotiation/sales skills Experience overseeing fundraising within a nonprofit organization is strongly preferred Interested and qualified candidates should submit a cover letter and resume (PDF Format) to https://canadianfilmcentre.bamboohr.com/careers by April 7, 2026, and indicate Director, Creative Impact in the subject line.
