Job Description

Job Summary: Reporting to the Program Director, the Job Developer is responsible for building partnerships with employers to create work placement and employment opportunities for participants in CPACs career service programs. The incumbent will also work with program participants to prepare them for employment through job readiness training and one-on-one counselling. In collaboration with the program team and external partners, the Job Developer will support program promotion, participant recruitment, and overall service delivery. This is a 12-month contract role with the potential to transition into a permanent position. Responsibilities: Conduct research on immigrant demographics, labour market trends, and sector-specific employer hiring needs Engage employer, build partnerships, and secure employment, placement, and apprenticeship opportunities Promote training programs to job seekers, employers, and community agencies Assist with participant recruitment and intake assessments Assist with mentor and mentee recruitment and orientation Facilitate training workshops on job search strategies, lead development, rsum and cover letter writing, interview skills, work ethic, and workplace behaviours Provide one-on-one counselling on marketing tool development, interview preparation, job search techniques, and employment readiness Assess individual employment needs, develop action plans, and follow up on their implementation Assist clients in developing appropriate workplace habits, behaviours, and attitudes Monitor work placement progress and provide ongoing support to participants and employers Monitor mentorship progress and provide ongoing support to mentors and mentees Liaise with service providers and clients to coordinate program activities Case manage participant files in accordance with program requirements Maintain accurate records and prepare statistical reports as required Conduct program evaluations by collecting and analyzing feedback from participants, service providers, employers, and other stakeholders Assist with communications, report preparation, and funding proposals Support the delivery of seminars, conferences, job fairs, and other program-related activities Perform other duties as assigned by management Skills & Qualifications: Post-secondary education in career/employment counseling or equivalent Experience in job development and/or employment counselling Demonstrated success in job development and employer engagement, including securing placements or employment outcomes Established employer networks are an asset Familiarity with skilled trades pathways is an asset Strong organizational skills Sound knowledge of labour market trends and job search strategies Excellent oral and written communication skills Advanced research and analytical skills Solid initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision Proven ability to work effectively with diverse clients, including youth and newcomers Well-developed teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and work styles Proficiency in internet research and MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Access, and internet To Apply Please forward your resume & cover letter, with salary expectation, to by March 31, 2026.We thank all candidates for their interest.
