Position Summary We are looking for a collaborative, strategic, and systems-minded Manager of Human Resources who will serve as a key architect of Rowland Emergencys people operations. This role is ideal for an experienced HR leader who thrives in a hands-on environment and is excited by the opportunity to build HR infrastructure from the ground up. You will play a critical role in fostering our company culture, designing and implementing scalable HR frameworks, and ensuring we attract, retain and empower the best talent in the industry. Youll also partner directly with leadership to align our people strategy with organizational goals while nurturing a resilient, high-performing, and engaged workplace. What Youll Be Responsible For Strategic HR Leadership & Systems Building Design and implement foundational HR systems, including policy development, process automation, workforce analytics, and talent management strategies. Align the HR function with strategic business objectives and ensure cross-departmental collaboration to support organizational transformation. Culture & Employee Experience Drive initiatives that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across the organization. Establish clear internal communications processes, employee feedback loops, recognition programs, and culture-building efforts. Lead the design and rollout of onboarding and offboarding programs, ensuring positive and consistent experiences at every stage of the employee journey. Organizational Development & Talent Strategy Partner with leadership to implement workforce planning, succession strategies, and change management initiatives. Define and implement leadership development, training, and performance management frameworks. Identify and implement career development programs to upskill employees and support long-term growth. Compliance, Governance & Operations Own all aspects of compliance with provincial and federal employment law, ensuring policies are current and risk is managed proactively. Responsible for all aspects of offboarding and separation management. Oversee HRIS, payroll, compensation/benefits strategy and administration. Maintain accurate employee records, policy manuals, and HR metrics. Recruitment & Retention Develop strategic hiring plans in collaboration with department leads. Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes, including candidate experience, structured interviews, and selection practices that align with our values. Design and implement data-informed strategies to increase retention and workforce engagement. People Leadership Coach, develop, and mentor staff, nurturing leadership potential and promoting ownership of daily office and HR responsibilities. Model and instill high standards of accountability, empathy, and responsiveness across the organization. Qualifications & Skills Required: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources. Demonstrated experience in building and scaling HR systems in a high-growth or evolving organizational environment. Deep understanding of Canadian employment law, occupational health & safety regulations, and labour relations. Proven success in strategic planning, talent development, and change management. Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and coaching skills with the ability to influence across all levels. Highly organized with excellent judgment, discretion, and problem-solving capabilities. Preferred: Experience with HRIS and payroll systems Familiarity with SAP Exposure to or interest in emerging HR technologies, automation tools, and AI-based platforms.
