Job Title: Payroll Specialist# 997972 Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Duration: 6 months contract (with possibility of extension/conversion) Job Summary The role is responsible for managing year-end payroll tax activities, supporting expatriate and globally mobile employees, ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S. payroll regulations, and providing high-level payroll support for senior leadership while maintaining accuracy, reconciliation standards, and service excellence. Key Responsibilities Balance all year-end tax slips and complete year-end government filings Support all expatriate assignments and some globally mobile employees Participate in both internal and external audits Provide customized payroll and year-end tax slip support for the CEO and Senior Executive Team Manage end-to-end Board of Directors payrolls Identify, review, and prepare POIs for reconciliation as needed Review and correct taxes from the Retiree Demographic report and the US Tax Data Query Respond to employee inquiries through ServiceNow cases Work Environment Time spent in meetings: approximately 10% Interaction: Internal stakeholders primarily, with possible external interaction Access to customer data: No Required (Must-Have) Skills & Qualifications Working knowledge of Workday (reporting) Expat payroll experience (minimum 3 years) Strong knowledge of Canadian Federal/Provincial and U.S. regulatory and legislative requirements related to payroll (Canada Revenue Agency / Revenu Quebec / IRS) Experience with report reconciliation principles Strong Excel skills Strong communication skills Strong analytical skills Strong attention to detail Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or working towards completion Experience working in a large organization Previous banking experience Dexian is a leading provider of staffing, IT, and workforce solutions with over 12,000 employees and 70 locations worldwide.
