The Medical Imaging department at Royal Inland Hospital is a collaborative team of 9 radiologists and 1 nuclear medicine physician, providing comprehensive services in xray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound (GE), CT (Siemens Dual Source Flash x2), MRI (recently upgraded to 1.5T GE), digital mammography, nuclear medicine, bone densitometry, and interventional radiology. As the regions leading tertiary referral hospital and Level1 Trauma Centre, RIH manages over 250 major trauma cases and accommodates 72,000 Emergency Department visits each year. The Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower, a $417million expansion opened in summer 2022, introduced advanced mental health units and surgical services.
