The Medical Imaging department at Royal Inland Hospital is a collaborative team of 9 radiologists and 1 nuclear medicine physician, providing comprehensive services in xray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound (GE), CT (Siemens Dual Source Flash x2), MRI (recently upgraded to 1.5T GE), digital mammography, nuclear medicine, bone densitometry, and interventional radiology. Our department is fully digital, utilizing McKesson PACS and Fluency voicerecognition dictation software. There is a oneyear track to full associate. Clinic Details: Royal Inland Hospital Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is a 273bed facility serving as the primary referral centre for nearly 250,000 individuals within the ThompsonCaribooShuswap Health Service Area. As the regions leading tertiary referral hospital and Level1 Trauma Centre, RIH manages over 250 major trauma cases and accommodates 72,000 Emergency Department visits each year. The Phil and Jennie Gaglardi Tower, a $417million expansion opened in summer 2022, introduced advanced mental health units and surgical services. In2024, new postanesthetic recovery rooms, a pediatric unit, and an enhanced emergency entrance were completed, with a new cancer centre projected for 2028. The hospitals multidisciplinary teams deliver internal medicine, OB/GYN, general surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology, ENT, pathology, psychiatry, pediatrics, anesthesia, radiology, urology, and family practice inpatient care.
