Supervisor, Forestry Operations at GreenFirst Forest Products Join us as a Superintendent in our operations division. We are looking for a Supervisor, Forestry Operations to plan, organize, and supervise forestry operations for the Kapuskasing, Opasatika and Hearst Divisions, ensuring quality work while maintaining cost effectiveness. Pay range CA$73,699.00/yr - CA$109,962.00/yr Location Hearst, ON Responsibilities Promote and provide a safe workplace, seek improvements, and support the Health & Safety Program. Lead a motivated, efficient, and engaged operations team of direct reports and provide career development opportunities. Coach and mentor employees to ensure maximum performance. Recommend training requirements for employee development. Provide direction to operations teams in consultation with customers, consultants, contractors or suppliers. Assist in negotiating harvesting and equipment contracts with internal and external contacts. Support compliance with collective agreements and maintain positive union/management/employee relations. Maintain a communications program to keep your team informed. Develop and maintain a good rapport between labour, customers, outside agencies, other users and management. Report to the Superintendent, Hearst Operations Forest Management. Participate in shortterm and midterm planning pertaining to budget requirements, staff selection and projects. Assist in preparing and developing operations budgets, authorize expenditures, review and analyze financial reports and take appropriate actions. Coordinate activities of the Forest Management, North Ontario West operations to maintain production targets, quality of wood products and supply for the Kapuskasing and Hearst sawmills. Prepare work schedules to ensure effective and efficient operations. Ensure that all operations adhere to the federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. Advise and recommend changes or opportunities on operating costs to supervisor. Report and explain deviations from planned activities. Assist in any other sector of Forest Management, Northern Ontario West operations as requested by the Superintendents and Woodlands Manager. Perform other related duties as assigned. Aider la prparation et l'laboration des budgets d'exploitation, autoriser les dpenses, examiner et analyser les rapports financiers et prendre les mesures appropries. Aider coordonner les activits de la gestion forestire, oprations du nord de l'Ontario occidental, afin de maintenir les objectifs de production, la qualit des produits du bois et l'approvisionnement en bois pour les scieries de Kapuskasing et de Hearst. Prparer les horaires de travail afin d'assurer l'efficacit et l'efficience des oprations. Veiller ce que toutes les oprations respectent les lois et rglements fdraux, provinciaux et municipaux.
